Summary:
The Pool Director is responsible for the overall management and daily operation of the municipal pool facility. This position oversees staff, ensures a safe and clean environment for all patrons, and coordinates aquatic programming and special events. The Pool Director provides leadership in facility operations, customer service, risk management, and staff development to ensure a positive and safe recreational experience for the community throughout the summer season.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of pool operations, including staff supervision, facility maintenance, and customer service.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for pool patrons.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of pool activities, such as swimming lessons, water aerobics, and special events.
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints.
- Train and supervise pool staff, including lifeguards and swim instructors.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective pool operations.
- Prepare reports on pool usage, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in guest services or customer service roles preferred
- Experience in shift management or supervisory positions desirable
- Familiarity with hospitality, restaurant, or events operations is a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Experience handling cash transactions accurately
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records
Knowledge & Abilities:
- Leadership and ability to effectively supervise and manage staff
- Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve patron concerns professionally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate daily operations and programming
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced public environment
- Ability to analyze operational needs and respond to issues effectively
- Ability to maintain accurate reporting and documentation of facility operations
Schedule:
- Shifts: Monday to Friday (Must be available for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed)
- Shift Length: 8-hour shifts
- Summer Duration: Seasonal employment from May 23 to September 12
