Serving as a poll worker is a rewarding way to contribute to your town, your state, and your country.


Who Can Apply?
You can serve as a poll worker in New Jersey if you:

  • Are a United States citizen and a resident of New Jersey

  • Are a registered voter in New Jersey

  • Are able to work the full Election Day (5:15 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.)

  • Have completed the mandatory training class

Citizens of all ages are encouraged to apply — including high school and college students who are at least 16 years old (note: 16- and 17-year-olds are not required to be registered voters).


Training
All poll workers must attend a mandatory training class before working. Training ensures you’re prepared to assist voters and support the election process with confidence.
